Juan Falconi Puig, Ambassador of Ecuador to the United Kingdom participated in the Conference on “50 Years of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations – September 2014”, giving a speech about “Contemporary developments relating to the inviolability of mission premises”.
In his speech Ambassador Falconi mentioned that VCDR, whose aim is to contribute to a friendly, legal and peaceful solution to conflicts that may arise between diplomatic missions and the receiving State, addresses this matter in Article 22. But 50 years after entry into force of the treaty, difficult questions relating to critical developments in this field remain.
The Conference was attended by experts in the field of International Law and Diplomatic Law.
